Anonymous:  Do you believe depression is truly a chemical imbalance or just a social construct we turned into a medical phenomena?

nevesnevele:

I honestly don’t know for sure. To me, depression is a manifestation. I believe that to overcome depression you have to face it and face your demons. You have to dig down into your soul, self reflect, look into your past, figure out how you tick. Once you do that, you must reset your patterns. This of course, is coming from my own experience. I worked through my depression. And now, when I feel a part of me falling into old habits, I snap back bc I won’t allow myself to fall down that hole again. Bc being depressed is really sad and boring. Of course, there are people who disagree and think it’s purely chemical. Im sure industrialization has something to do with all mental disorders, though
